About Us

Jewish worship every day of the year

We have morning and evening minyanim every day of the year. Obimahur High Holiday services engage our adults, teens and children. All of our services have lay participation—our members are participants, not just spectators in their practice of  Judaism. Our Egalitarian philosophy means that women and men are equal partners in our religious services. We also provide alternate services for those who seek a more traditional approach. You will also find age appropriate Junior Congregation services for children.

Zayin Class GraduationThe Fair Lawn Jewish Center offers a complete Jewish education to our children with a Religious School program that begins in kindergarten and continues through Bar or Bat Mitzvah and beyond. Our dedicated staff makes Jewish study fun and rewarding. They involve parents in the education process so that the entire family learns together.

Social activities

There are many social opportunities for visiting with old friends and making new ones. Our Sisterhood and Men’s Progress Club sponsor many fun and exciting programs each year to raise funds for special needs programs that benefit the Center and the community. In addition, every year, the Center and our various groups host a number of cultural events.

Family Promise

If you wish to participate in community service activities, you will want to become part of our Social Action program. We go on Shabbat visits to the home-bound and the sick, we provide dinners and collect food and clothes for the needy both in and beyond the Jewish community.

Beautiful inspiring space

The Fair Lawn Jewish Center has beautiful, inspiring spaces for worship, study, learning and socializing with friends. We have rooms of all sizes, appropriate for small gatherings and large affairs; informal get-togethers and formal meetings or galas. Our Activities Level has an enormous amount of space for all types of meetings and events. The Marc Steven Haar Youth Lounge and our Arts & Crafts room are great places for kids to play and get to know other Jewish children. Throughout the Center, meeting rooms are available for use by Center members and outside groups of all sizes. Our full-size gymnasium is available for all Center members—plenty of room to play a little “one-on-one” or full-court basketball.

We have an exclusive catering arrangement with Main Events Caterers. Add special flair and delicious elegance to your affair with one of North Jersey’s foremost catering and event planners.
